How does the address sign program work?
Your house address must be visible for the fire department to see in the event we are called to your home for an emergency. If it is not visible we can put one up for you that is visible.
Address sign forms are available at the station. Once the form is filled out the signs should be made and posted within 2 weeks free of charge. Donations are accepted.
What is the ISO rating for the district?
It is a 4 in the city & an 8 or 9 in the rural district depending on the distance from the fire hall.
ISO stands for Insurance Service Office. The better the department, the lower the ISO rating and insurance cost to homeowners.
Why do you still use the siren on top of the Fire Department?
It is one of the ways we notify fire personnel of emergency calls & in addition it helps with the ISO rating for fire insurance.
The siren is in use from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
